Description

Lists and registers of Russlaender families compiled by church leaders in the Waterloo-Kitchener, Vineland, Leamington and Reesor areas. The time period is generally 1924 to the early 1930s, except for the Reesor congregation which includes lists until the late 1940s.

There was considerable movement by Russlaender in the 1920s and 1930s in and out of Ontario, and within Ontario. Therefore, families may appear in more than one register. In the early years, Kirchliche and Mennonite Brethren congregants often worshiped together. However, the registers in this collection are all from congregations which joined the (Kirchliche) Conference of the United Mennonite Churches of Ontario.
